Professor Larson has extensive experience in fund-raising, academic program reviewing and academic personnel matters. 

In the fund-raising area, he has consulted in raising funds for endowed chairs and special research ventures from private donors, community organizations, and state and federal agencies in the area of Arts and Humanities

As Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at UC Santa Barbara, he served as academic personnel officer for tenure/promotion and academic program development

He has also served as reviewer for academic programs in large research universities and four year colleges around the country
